LITERARY FESTIVALS.
I'm running a writers' workshop at the Words Together Festival in glorious Wigan on April 3rd.
The organisers have also asked me to bring a chicken and talk about life on the road as a book plugging author with nothing but a domestic fowl for company, so one of my flock is coming too.
We're in Wigan from 10.00a.m. at the Cricket Club (). This follows on from a similar hen/hack doubling up for the King's Sutton Literary Festival in March.
The workshops are intended to be fun and accessible, and the chicken talk is daft. As an invited author, I'm hoping for a warmer reception than the one I received as a 'local author' at another literary event earlier this year. For the gory details see FESTIVAL OF HORRORS.
BLOG!
I've knocked together a video blog tied in with 'Write On!' for a website called 'Meet the Author.'
It's a series of interviews with people aged between 9 and 81 about their literary likes and dislikes, and isn't entirely serious.
If you've a few minutes to spare have a look at:
http://www.meettheauthor.co.uk/bookbites/1528.html
The site has about 1,300 author clips from writers as diverse as Iain Banks, Roy Hattersely and Deborah Moggach, together with some good archive interviews with people like Eric Newby, so it's well worth a look.
